Our story
Started in Winnipeg. Built for Calgary.
G Modern was founded in 2023 with one goal: deliver flooring installations in Calgary that are done right, on schedule, and by the same crew that quoted the job.
We started our work in Winnipeg, where we built our foundation in residential tile and hardwood. When the opportunity came to relocate to Calgary, we moved the business here intentionally. Alberta's construction market was expanding, and we saw a clear gap for a flooring company that prioritized craftsmanship over volume.
Since establishing in Calgary, we've grown into a focused installation team, in-house tile setters, hardwood and flooring installers, and a supplier network built through consistent, repeat partnerships. No subcontractors. No unfamiliar crews. Every project we quote, we install.
Calgary has its own demands, seasonal subfloor movement, radiant heat prep, the difference between a 1960s inner-city bungalow and a new-build in the suburbs. We've worked through all of it. That hands-on local knowledge is what separates us from companies that treat every city the same.
